All Hell Broke Loose When Top Dem Made Career-Ending Confession
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her fellow Democratic leaders in Washington are pacing nervously. Their worst nightmare just came true at a time when they can’t afford anymore setbacks.
And that’s because all hell broke loose when a top Democrat made a career-ending confession.
While speaking from the House floor, radical Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib compared the Boycotts, Divestment, and Sanctions Movement (BDS) to the boycott of Nazi, Germany.
The anti-Semitic BDS movement calls for rolling back protections that the U.S. government provides to Israel and would allow American citizens and businesses to support boycotts of Israel.
Tlaib went nuts during her speech, voiced her opposition to a House resolution affirming opposition to the movement, and said the BDS movement is similar to those boycotting Nazis.
Her comments are disturbingly false and could have a huge impact on her career going forward.
Tlaib said she could not stand by as the “daughter of Palestinian immigrants” and watch an attack on the right to “boycott the racist policies of the government and state of Israel.”
“The right to boycott is deeply rooted in the fabric of our country,” she said. “What was the Boston Tea Party but a boycott? Where would we be now without the boycott led by the civil rights activists in the 1950s and 60s like the Montgomery bus boycott and the United Farm Workers Grape boycott?”
“Americans boycotted Nazi Germany in response to dehumanization, imprisonment, and genocide of Jewish people,” she said. “In the 1980s, many of us in this very body boycotted South African goods in the fight against apartheid. Our right to free speech is being threatened with this resolution. It sets a dangerous precedent because it attempts to delegitimize a certain people’s political speech and to send a message that our government can and will take action against speech it doesn’t like.”
The bill that Tlaib spoke out against — which rejected boycotting Israel — was brought to the House floor and passed by a margin of 398-17.
Tlaib was one of the lonely 17 Democrats who voted against a bill that affirmed America’s commitment to Israel, our strongest ally in the Middle East.
That’s a huge blow to Tlaib and “The Squad” — Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib — who all essentially supported the bill to allow boycotts of Israel.
Beyond the pure idiocy of her comments and comparisons, Tlaib became a member of Congress in January and has already found herself in hot water countless times.
Tlaib stunned many late last month after she claimed thinking about the Holocaust — where over six million Jews were killed — gives her a “calming feeling.”
In April, Tlaib said she was more afraid of Americans, not terrorists, after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
Tlaib still faces questions after her father accused her of lying “big-time to get elected” by falsifying her address on an election affidavit.
Hours after Democrats took control of the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2018, Tlaib launched into a profanity-laced diatribe against President Donald Trump and voted “impeach the motherf**ker.”
