Barack Obama Hit With Rude Awakening About 2020 He Never Saw Coming
Former President Barack Obama loves to make himself the center of attention and portray himself as the greatest president this country has ever had.
But he just got hit with a rude awakening about the 2020 presidential election that he probably never saw coming.
In 2016, Obama supported Hillary Clinton and actually encouraged his vice president, Joe Biden, not to run for president.
Now that Biden is currently the 2020 frontrunner in the Democratic Party, the other candidates are attacking Obama’s legacy and failed actions to show that the former VP should not be the next commander-in-chief.
Democrats are basically slamming Obama and calling him out for his failed policies as a way to gain ground on Biden.
That has not sat well with Obama, who does not want to be a political pinata and have his legacy attacked because Biden is now in the race.
Making matters even worse, Biden is also not doing a very good job of actually defending his former boss and some of the things they accomplished while in office.
During the Democratic primary debates last Thursday, all 10 of the candidates on the stage — including Biden — raised their hand in favor of abolishing Obamacare and implementing the socialist “Medicare for All.”
Just consider that: Biden, who was a major player in helping create and push Obamacare, now argues it is ineffective and should be abolished.
That’s a huge blow to his former boss, which may be why Obama has not endorsed Biden in the 2020 race.
Now Obama’s time in office is being used as a crutch by a candidate he may not actually support or want to see as the next president of the United States.
Biden also struggled mightily last week during the debate over his previous support for pro-segregationist Democrat senators and forced school busing.
California Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris took Biden to the woodshed and accused him of having racist policies in the past.
“It was hurtful to hear you talk about the reputations of two United States senators who built their reputations and career on the segregation of race in this country,” Harris said. “And it was not only that — you also worked with them to oppose busing.”
She then talked about growing up in California where she was bused to integrate her public schools.
“And that little girl was me. So I will tell you that on this subject, it cannot be an intellectual debate among Democrats. We have to take it seriously. We have to act swiftly,” Harris stated.
Pressed by Harris on whether he regretted his position on busing, Biden argued that he did not oppose busing generally.
“I did not oppose busing in America. What I opposed is busing ordered by the Department of Education,” he said.
“I’m the guy that extended the voting rights act for 25 years,” Biden started. “We got to the place where we got 98 out of the 98 votes in the United States senate doing it. I have also argued very strongly that we in fact deal with the notion of denying people access to the ballot box…”
Surprisingly, Biden then cut himself off: “I agree that everybody once they in fact…anyway… my time is up.”
Biden had an awful performance, seemed very confused, and wasn’t even paying attention during some points of the debate.
Biden is doing great harm to Obama’s already controversial two terms in office.
Biden not only said he supported abolishing Obamacare — which Obama said was his greatest legislative achievement — the former VP is also being dogged by allegations that he is racist.
Now, all of the 2020 candidates are ripping apart Obama’s legacy in order to attack Biden, and the former VP is not doing anything about it.
